Primary function of earthing is to provide low-resistance path for fault current to flow to the ground instead of through a person or an equipment. Conventional pipe/plate electrodes work well when they are newly installed. But as the time pass, these electrodes corrode due to oxidation process under the soil, resulting in increase of their resistances. Even with regular maintenance expected life of these electrodes are about 8 to 10 years after which they need to be replaced. Marconite encapsulated electrodes overcome these shortcomings of conventional electrodes.

• High Strength: Compressive strength of Marconite is greater than M-25 grade concrete.

• Easy Installation: Simple bore hole is required for pre-cast electrode or in-site casting of Marconite electrode.

• Versatile: Marconite electrodes are suitable for all types of soil conditions. It becomes permanent solid structure and is not prone to shrink, dry-out wash away or leach into soil.

• Maintenance Free: It does not need to be maintained with water/salt every few years like for pipe/plate earthing in order to achieve the desired earth resistance values. It is chemically inert and does not corrode metal conductors. It is environment-friendly and has a life of over 50 years with consistent performance.

• Cost Effective: When its lifespan is considered, Marconite electrode is 5 to 7 times more cost effective compared to pipe/plate electrodes.
